Chinese in New Zealand poem

Chinese in New Zealand
Their Presence would bring downfall,
Each nation has the right to decide,
But still they come.
They only want GOLD,
They are corrupt and greedy,
A POLL TAX is genius
-Alizeyah.

This poem is based around the events of the 1800s poll tax.It is the perspective of a New Zealander at the time of these events. We have                                                                                           learnt about the unfair and cruel times the chinese                                                                                     went through.

  1. And aren't we glad we live in a country where as a nation our thoughts are heard and actioned.
